Government Exploration of the Cultural System in the Early Republican Era (1911–1927)
Abstract
In the brief span of 38 years from 1911 to 1949, the ROC government underwent several major transitions. They included the Nanjing Provisional government, the Northern-Warlord regime, the KMT regimes in Nanjing (1927–1937), Chongqing (1937–1945), and Nanjing (1945–1949). This chapter explores and explains the cultural system from the beginning of the establishment of the ROC in 1911 to the period when the KMT took power in 1927.
