Abstract

The industrial revolution laid stress on mindless mechanism, regarding work in terms of how much output a man could produce, and the maximum effort that one could get from him. The production line concept of work and effort has continued to shape the way we think about work and jobs. All previous developments shaped and dictated the ways in which we think about and use new developments, at least in their initial stages.
