Abstract

In the previous chapters we have looked at the background to the present socio-economic electronic revolution in which we find ourselves. We have seen what the computer can do, how it and developments in telecommunications can be regarded as immensely powerful extensions of man. We have surveyed the present changes in education and in the last chapter have examined implications of the new technology for education as far as we can see it at this moment. But what of the future? The only thing that we can be certain of is that change will continue and that we and our future generations must be able to manage and control that change for the positive benefit of mankind.
