Abstract

This chapter presents strategies designed to support school-avoidant students in reengaging with their school communities. Central to this process is fostering a sense of belonging through consistent affirmation that each student’s presence is valued and that they occupy a meaningful place within the school environment. The chapter introduces a practical toolbox to guide reintegration efforts, encompassing wraparound service provision, school-based collaboration, parent engagement, targeted interventions, Response to Intervention (RTI), and special education support. Collectively, these strategies aim to rebuild trust, promote emotional safety, and help students reclaim a positive and connected role within their school communities.
