Abstract

This chapter examines the characteristics of international economic laws that are applicable to the relationship between EU and Korea. These laws consist of various treaties rooted in multilateralism such as the WTO, the Korea–EU bilateral relationship such as the EU–Korea FTA, and bilateral relations between Korea and each EU member state. They regulate not only traditional economic interactions but also new trade-related areas such as sustainability. This plays a significant role in the evolving parameters of European-Asian international economic law. Based on this research, the chapter identifies the factors that could reshape the international economic laws between the partners and predict the evolution of their laws for the new European-Asian economic law.
