Abstract

To conclude, this book addresses the relevant question: does social psychology in India have the transformative potential for social change, equality, harmony, and social justice? Scholars and social activists often critically contemplate this question and link it with the intersecting nature of interdisciplinary knowledge. Social psychology connects enterprise with scientific knowledge and an agenda towards understanding various social issues. The ever-increasing importance of social psychology now has a new interdisciplinary outlook. It confidently connects with social theory and the movement towards opening social science. It assertively responds to challenges while empirically and philosophically pondering on social psychological aspects such as attitude formation, social influences, prejudice, and violence faced by oppressed castes, gender, and religious minority groups, the rise of artificial intelligence, and many more.
