Abstract

The geographical scope of this chapter is present-day Japan and Korea at the time of the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). These countries form an important focus in the wider context of the Japan Sea (e.g. Velichko 1984 , Wu & Olsen 1985 ; Vol. 1, Ch. 15). This work will deal with each country separately because of the marked contrast in the quality and quantity of the data available for each.
