Abstract

The first chapter narrates the political activities of Virendra Chattopadhyaya, located in different European cities like London, Berlin, Stockholm, and finally in the Soviet Union. At Joshi Archive in JNU, the author came across some rare documents relating to Chattopadhyaya&s;s political life. Referring to L. E. Karunovskaya&s;s (Chotto&s;s wife) interview, also her petition to Khrushchev, and other sources, this chapter narrates his early political life as the prime architect of the Berlin Committee, his correspondence with Lenin and other leaders of the Communist International, and his academic engagement in Leningrad, Soviet Union.
