Abstract

The previous chapter outlined some assumptions regarding the manner in which a cognitive method might be applied to the analysis of dyslexic reading. The intention in this and the following chapter is to describe the method in more concrete detail. This involves a consideration of the tasks which appear most appropriate for an investigation of the systems and pathways specified in the model and of the factors which should be varied. The next chapter will discuss some of the technicalities of the research, including the setting up of the experimental procedure on a microcomputer, the conduct of the experiments, and the treatment of the data.
