Arguing Science: Discourse and Explanation
Abstract
In the last chapter we proposed an inversion of the relationship between objects in the world and their representation. It was suggested that representational practices constituted the objects of the world, rather than being a reflection of (arising from) them. At the same time, we noted that the apparent absurdity of this (inverted) point of view was a good measure of our commitment to the traditional standpoint.
