Abstract

Single-session therapy is a mode of therapy delivery that is new to most therapists, who tend to view it from a conventional therapy mindset and thus struggle to understand its therapeutic potency. If it is new to therapists, it is also likely to be new to most clients who seek therapeutic help. Such clients are likely to think, for example, that therapy is a longer-term endeavour than a single session.
