Abstract
I mentioned in Chapter 11 that when I started out with SST, I thought I needed to develop a set of indications and contraindications so that I would only offer SST to those deemed to be suitable for it (see Dryden, 2017 ). However, I soon saw that this was not in keeping with the work of other SST therapists and I soon changed my mind about doing this and consequently I changed my practice (see Dryden, 2022a ).
