Abstract

In Chapter 15 , I discussed that you can form a good enough working alliance with your client in SST, and you can do so by paying attention to the four domains of the working alliance between the two of you ( Bordin, 1979 ; Dryden, 2006 , 2011 ). One of these domains concerns goals – what you and your client wish to achieve from SST. Given that the only time you may see your client is for the session you are having with them, although, of course, they may come back to you for more help later (see Chapter 2 ), then it makes sense to negotiate an end-of-session goal with them.
