Keep in Mind the Importance of Co-Creating a Therapeutic Focus and Maintaining It Once It Has Been Created
Abstract
Unless your client wants to use the session to talk in an interrupted way about whatever they choose and for you to listen, a session in single-session therapy needs to be focused. A focus can be created with your client from the problem that your client wants to address, the solution they want to find or the goal they want to achieve. Once a focus in single-session therapy has been created, you need to help your client maintain this focus.
