Keep in Mind That One Session May Be Sufficient for the Client
Abstract
As I described in the Introduction, one of the striking findings that Talmon (1990 : 9) discovered when he audited 200 of his cases who attended for one session when they both had previously contracted for more sessions was as follows: ‘78 per cent of the patients I called said that they got what they wanted out of the single session and felt better or much better about the problem that had led them to seek therapy’.
