Developing perspectives and expectations
Abstract
The present chapter explores the emerging views and perspectives of adolescents in a number of areas concerning schooling and life generally. Attitudes towards the curriculum were sought, especially in terms of usefulness for present and future needs in life transitions. The interest in and the expectations of students on a wide variety of general social and educational issues were investigated. More general attitudes towards the school in terms of what it does, fails to do and should do were tapped.
