Abstract

The next ten days invite teachers to reflect on how connection and community can help them enjoy their summer and restore themselves. As human beings, we all have a need to belong, and it is important to cultivate belonging in spaces other than school in order to build a rich, healthy life experience. This section will invite teachers to select their circle with care, invest their social energy wisely, and share in the human experience along with others. Relationships can be a source of stress relief, problem-solving, and, most importantly, great enjoyment. This section will also invite the reader to reflect on the most important relationship of all: the relationship with oneself. Whether one prefers lots of social connection over the summer months, or a few meaningful moments with others, time with others can offer a source of solace, joy, and increased calm. The ultimate priority during the summer months is the establishment and maintenance of inner peace. This section invites readers to enlist the support of trusted loved ones to further the journey toward calm and wholeness through the power of connection.
