Abstract

In the introduction to Sustainable Narratives and Technologies in Tourism , the book is positioned as a textbook for university students working at the graduate level. The context is set to show how the chapters are a useful approach to exploring the tourism industry as it enters the next decade. It introduces the key themes of local communities and stakeholders in tourism growth and points out the connection between local needs and sustainability. Alongside this, the concept of storytelling is brought into play and then details of specific content from many of the chapters are listed. The list of example chapter contents is presented to show how the chapters can be used separately to build a module or as reading for existing teaching and research. The scope and range of topics and research methods used in the book are also made clear through this list of example chapter contents.
