Abstract
Under the transformation of digitalization in education, the question of how metaverse technology can be effectively applied in the field of education and accepted by users has been widely discussed. This study aims to utilize diffusion of innovations, technology acceptance model, and expectation confirmation theory as a theoretical framework to explore the relationship between technological innovation awareness, technological satisfaction, and users’ intention to continue using metaverse technology. This study aims to investigate the relationship between awareness of technological innovations, technological satisfaction, and users’ continued intention to use the metaverse technology. For this reason, this study invited students from Chinese vocational colleges and universities to fill in a questionnaire and used the structural square city model to verify the results. The results of the study show that technological innovativeness is positively related to perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness; perceived ease of use is positively related to perceived usefulness, technological satisfaction, and technological attitude; perceived usefulness is positively related to technological satisfaction and technological attitude; technological satisfaction is positively related to technological attitude and continuance use intention; and technological attitude is positively related to continuance use intention. The extended technology acceptance model explains the intention of vocational students to use metaverse.
