Picosecond Time-Resolved Raman Studies with CW Mode-Locked Lasers
Abstract
Several attempts to separate Raman signals from hot luminescence, ordinary luminescence and saturated absorption by means of picosecond Raman techniques are reported. First, time characteristics of secondary emissions under the resonant excitation into a continuum state are studied in ZnTe. Next, attempts to reject cumbersome background from the Raman spectrum by time-resolved spontaneous Raman and inverse Raman methods are described. Usefulness of the time-correlated single-photon counting and two dye lasers pumped synchronously by a CW mode-locked laser is demonstrated.
