Detuning from Vibrational Absorption Features: A Probe of Intramolecular Dynamical Pathways
Abstract
If a sharp laser line is tuned through a vibrational band in a homogeneous absorption spectrum, the emitted secondary radiation is predicted, under certain circumstances, to suffer large changes as a function of the detuning from resonance . The more detuned the laser is from the vibrational resonance, the more the radiation resembles unrelaxed or "tense” fluorescence.
