Chlorination of Alkyl Phenyl Ethers Within a Reversed-Phase Liquid Chromatography Column
Abstract
A reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column was used as a chemical reactor for the chlorination of a series of n -alkyl phenyl ethers by chlorine water. Substrate selectivity due to differences in relative hydrophilic/ lipophilic character was observed.
