Different Methods for the Evaluation of Doxorubicin Cytotoxicity in MCF-7 Cells.
Abstract
The evaluation of antineoplastic activity of a drug or pharmacologic combination are performed today by several “in vitro” and “in vivo” experimental models. Different methods have been proposed for the “in vitro” evaluation of cytotoxic activity 1 . Our group interest is actually addressed to an “in vitro” evaluation of the possible interactions between hormones and antineoplastic agents: at this aim we use a continous human breast cancer cell line containing estrogen-re-ceptors (ER+) 2 . One of our problems has been the choice of one or more techniques for an adeguate evaluation of doxorubicin cytotoxicity after hormonal pre-treatment.
