Abstract

Virtually everyone in North America involved with the practice and science of pharmacy waited with curiosity and great interest to the official release in December, 1975 of the final report of The Study Commission on Pharmacy. When the report became available, it was the subject of seminars, retreats, lectures, symposia, study groups, countless task forces and committees. All of these events were conducted to enable the North American pharmacy community to: learn the thoughts and ideas of leaders and thinkers; consider how the findings and recommendations would impact on them and their institutions; and, react to the suggested modifications to conventional pharmacy education.
