Abstract

This volume showcases research investigating the effects of deliberate instruction on vocabulary learning. When we consider learning vocabulary, many may consider it to be the instructor’s primary role to teach words. However, delibera e vocabulary learning methods are quite diverse and include learning through activities such as word cards that focus on developing knowledge of form-meaning connection, rich instruction approaches that focus on developing depth of vocabula y knowledge, as well as strategy training aimed at developing effective and efficient autonomous learners.
