Abstract

Although many staff are skilled at providing an attractive environment in their classrooms/ working areas, it may not be that they have considered how to maximise its potential for teaching and learning. Neither might they have considered how they can vary the grouping of learners nor how they might like to organise the available experts. It is very difficult to make the best use of learners’ thinking skills in an environment which is preventing them from exercising freedom of choice, learning from mistakes and solving problems.
