The Concept of the Coincidentia Oppositorum in the Thought of Mircea Eliade
Abstract
As well as shedding some light on Eliade’s concept of the coincidentia and on its analysis by various commentators, John Valk here also makes plain the relevance of Eliade’s coincidentia for his understanding of time and history. Valk’s analysis of “The Concept of the Coincidentia Oppositorum in the Thought of Mircea Eliade” was first published in Religious Studies 28 (1992): 31-41. All rights reserved.
