On Reading Eliade's Stories As Myths for Moderns
Abstract
This article, by Mac Linscott Ricketts, is a previously unpublished paper, which was presented at Midwest Modern Language Association Twenty-Fourth Annual Meeting, Cincinnati, Ohio, November, 1982. It is an insightful analysis of Eliade’s literature by possibly the only Anglophone historian of religion who thoroughly learned Romanian in order to investigate Eliade’s early life and work in real detail and who thus gained the additional benefit of access to Eliade’s untranslated fiction.
