Abstract

The “House mouse” is undoubtedly the most studied laboratory vertebrate. Indeed, it is amusing, in view of the location of this conference, that the behaviour of this rodent was apparently of interest to the Romans who invaded my home village in Wales more than 1800 years ago (see figure 1). I am, perhaps, simply re-exporting the enthusiasm back to the Italian location of Sicily.
