Abstract

One of the most general phenomena exhibited by living systems is interaction, involving reciprocal and mutual causation. Therefore, a basic technique of systems analysis is to examine the components of the system in every possible combination, first alone, then two at a time, then three at a time and so on to a consideration of the total system.
