Abstract

This paper concerns itself with the link between the psychological theory of intrinsic motivation and the increasing uptake of health education as a behaviour. Based on some fairly crude research done by the author and his experience over the last four years, it suggests that an understanding of the influence of intrinsic motivation upon behaviour is important to the development of health education as a discipline. It then veers off into the realm of fantasy and makes several wild claims.
