Abstract

The construction industry globally accounts for a significant portion of the world’s CO₂ emissions, placing considerable responsibility on architects and planners to design conscientiously. Despite the global urgency, protests by young people and the tangible effects of climate change, convincing clients to develop buildings that contribute to the solution rather than the problem remains challenging. At best, we can create structures that cause less harm, but often this is not a holistic approach, focusing solely on aspects like construction, maintenance or usage with certain sustainable elements.
