Abstract

For a small architecture practice, mission and vision statements might be a tediously commercial venture. However, the more definition these statements have, and the more you and your staff agree on them, the more practical they become when trying to reach your goals. For example, often when I visit other architecture offices, the principal explains clearly what the practice does and stands for. Yet when I then encounter a long-serving staff member, and I ask them what their practice does, the answers vary. It is important that all staff know what the essence is, your raison d’être.
