Conclusion
Abstract
The conclusion revisits the book’s central questions: When did the current trend toward the performative in museums emerge, and how has this development shaped artistic practices, artworks, and institutions? It reflects on the methods employed and the materials analyzed before synthesizing the book’s findings across three levels of analysis: the micro-level of specific historical events, the meso-level of institutional frameworks and conditions, and the macro-level of broader political, economic, and social contexts. The conclusion closes by connecting the historical trajectory traced in the book with the ongoing and increasingly prominent role of performance in museums today.
