To Remember, We Visualize
Abstract
This chapter further advances a Critical Race Feminista Quantitative Praxis as an epistemological and methodological intervention that links story(ing) and computational analysis to center the lived experiences and wisdom of Communities of Color. Drawing inspiration from W.E.B. Du Bois and Ida B. Wells-Barnett, the authors illuminate how data visualization can serve as an act of ancestral remembrance, racial witnessing, and resistance. Through a series of case studies—including educational pipelines, GIS mapping, and epistemic network analysis—the chapter demonstrates how quantitative methods, when guided by Critical Race and Chicana Feminist frameworks, can interrogate racialized inequities while amplifying the dignity and humanity of marginalized communities.
