Abstract

Here we are at the end of the book. But it&s;s only just the beginning, isn&s;t it? Young writers have started on a path that will last a lifetime—writing their thoughts and ideas, utilizing all they know about language and languages. As you well know, the writing tasks will only become more rigorous, cumbersome, and demanding as your young writers become adolescents, then teens, and adults. But for this moment in time, do exactly what the young people in front of you need you to do. Invite them to explore language, find their identity as writers, find all the possibilities in written words, and wonder what more is possible. Show them how to live as writers, as small as they are. Let them do what writers do.
