Abstract

Jake’s story began when his mother told me, “We’ve been told our 7-year-old son will never learn to read.” This case study follows a neurodiverse child with a chromosome deletion and speech impairment, as he becomes a reader during one-on-one instruction provided by a reading specialist in a community-based tutoring program.
