Transformation
Abstract
Reflecting on my artistic research, it is insightful to reconsider the dichotomy between modernism's fixed meaning and postmodernism's deferred meaning. Constructing my artist identity embraces deferred meaning, yet the synthesised insights I produce may convey fixed meaning. This paradox is evident in my Artist Statement, finalised in 2017, which introduces a body of work titled ‘Sculptures and Installations’, encompassing over 720 artworks created between 2010 and 2024. How can a statement remain relevant for 14 years while addressing such an extensive collection?
