Abstract

Some activities relating to leasehold property require the consent of the landlord. Where the landlord’s consent is required for a particular activity, that consent takes the form of a licence . This chapter focuses on two key licences: Licence to Assign Licence to Underlet Another key licence that you may come across in practice is a licence for alterations, which is used where the tenant wishes to make alterations to the premises. A detailed examination of this type of licence is beyond the scope of this work. This chapter is relevant to commercial leases.
