Abstract

Once contracts have been exchanged, some final due diligence is undertaken before completion of the transaction occurs. This is to make sure that nothing concerning the land or the parties has changed since the due diligence was undertaken. This chapter examines the different types of search, including those revealing entries which affect the land itself and those revealing information about the parties. Some common search results are reviewed with a discussion of any additional steps which must be taken before completion can occur. This chapter is relevant to all freehold and leasehold Transactions.
