Abstract

So far, design principles are founded on the notion that learning, when experiential, engages our exterior sensory capacities (exteroceptors) that link the student external world experiences (embedded) with the internal experiences (within the body, as embodied). Learning is relational (related to other actors), distributed (not residing in the mind of one individual), enacted (performed), and extended (beyond the body using ancillary ‘tools’ as extensions of the mind-body). In this chapter the principles of holistic design will be further explored in terms of everyday practical ‘teaching’ ideas, adding to the designs already introduced in previous chapters.
