Abstract

A variety of magnification systems are applied in the field of dentistry to facilitate surgical procedures in a limited area. The development of the videoscope device has been intended to overcome various disadvantages that occur during surgical operations. The purpose of this review is to discuss 1) the use of videoscope-assisted minimally invasive surgery in periodontology and 2) the usage of videoscope in dentistry. An electronic search of literature published in English was carried out by two reviewers.Although videoscope usage has been documented to result in favourable outcomes, particularly in periodontal minimally invasive surgeries, further well-designed studies are recommended to provide more robust evidence.
