Abstract

This paper is part of a dissertation that developed Mathematical Modeling practices in the classroom and on a walking track, using the structure of a Mathematical Modeling Cycle as a theoretical reference. The research sought to answer: what are the contributions of Mathematical Modeling in a 7th grade Middle School class to the mobilization of mathematical content and the development of mathematical and social skills? The research analyzed how the mobilization of mathematical content occurred, highlighting the potential of the approach. The methodology proved effective in expanding content development, achieving skills at subsequent levels, and improving essential skills for citizenship training.
