Potential of the Pedagogical Residency Program in the education of Mathematics teachers at the Federal University of Uberlândia

This paper discusses the potential of the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) in the education of Mathematics teachers. The analysis, based on the assumptions of paradigmatic analysis, used reports from residents of the Mathematics course at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Santa Monica campus, linked to the Interdisciplinary Center for Physics and Mathematics, during eighteen months of the third PRP call for applications. The results indicate that, among other potentialities, the problematization of the theme of assessment proved to be important, leading to the recognition of its formative relevance. In this sense, the PRP contributed to the constitution of an unprecedented-viable: the possible creation of a curriculum component focused on the study of assessment in the Licentiate Degree in Mathematics at UFU.
