Abstract

The paper examines the impact of the US-China trade war on China’s energy transition and its clean energy goals, employing a mixed-methods approach. It suggests that the trade war has acted as a catalyst for China’s clean energy initiatives, with China implementing measures such as market diversification and the dual circulation strategy to counteract the tariff war. Overreliance on China for critical clean energy components presents considerable risks to global supply chains.
