Abstract

Background. Psycho-emotional stress in the context of a military activity leads to an unexpectedly high increase of the morbidity-rate of oncological diseases, especially cervical cancer. Delayed medical care correlates with a significantly worse recurrence-free survival rate, particularly among young women. Purpose – is to conduct further investigations, concerning developing of new treatment modalities for early-stage cervical cancer patients, using HDR brachytherapy in combination with concomitant chemotherapy (CT), as well as a comparative analysis of the features of therapeutic pathomorphism across different options of preoperative therapy and evaluation of the treatment efficacy. Materials and Methods. The application of mathematical statistics methods at the digitalized pool of the catamnestic data of 108 patients with early-stage cervical cancer allowed for the identification of several indicators that may serve as marker signs for the future occurrence of cancer-specific events. The application of modern information technologies for analyze of a large pool of catamnestic data of patients allows for the identification of correlations between subsequent cancer-specific events, baseline clinical indicators and treatment characteristics with a minimal human resource involvement. Results. Most of these marker indicators are presented as clinical values, recorded at the beginning of treatment. While these indicators are discussed in the literature, their reference values typically characterize cervical cancer in general and differ from the specific data for early-stage cervical cancer. Furthermore, our data indicates that these marker indicators properties depend on the type of the initial treatment – whether surgical intervention or chemoradiotherapy. Conclusions. The established patterns can serve as a basis for developing recommendations to adjust antitumor therapy under conditions of forced intensification of the treatment.
