Abstract

The use of cosmetics among adolescents has increased along with the development of beauty trends. However, many adolescents are still less aware of the safety of the cosmetic products they use. A low level of knowledge can influence attitudes and behaviors in choosing safe cosmetics. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes and cautious behavior in using cosmetics through the Cek BPOM application among female students of SMK Tamansiswa Kudus. This study employed an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach and used a questionnaire instrument that had passed validity and reliability tests. The respondents in this study consisted of 88 female students. The data analysis method uses the univariate method and the bivariate method uses the Spearman rank correlation test.. The results showed that 78.41% of the students had a good level of knowledge, 95.45% had positive attitudes, and 93.18% demonstrated good cautious behavior toward safe cosmetics using Cek BPOM. The Spearman rank correlation test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the level of knowledge, attitudes, and cautious behavior in using cosmetics through Cek BPOM among female students of SMK Tamansiswa Kudus
