Abstract
This study explored the operational requirements of smart beauty one-person multishops, a new trend emerging in response to societal changes, by examining their components in depth and objectively. In the first survey, 150 managers operating one-person beauty and health multishop businesses for over 10 years were selected using a judgmental sampling method.A semi-structured, open-ended questionnaire was administered to participants, followed by a content analysis of the components of the Smart Beauty one-person multishop. In the second survey, preliminary questions were developed based on the identified components to ensure objectivity.A second survey was administered to 196 participants, followed by exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis. The results of the study revealed that the open-ended content analysis of smart beauty one-person multishop operations identified 195 representative raw data items, 15 sub-components, five components, and one additional component.Second, the content analysis ultimately identified five factors: individual operation expertise, customer management system, operational economics, equipment expertise, and product expertise, along with 22 preliminary questions.Currently, the Korean beauty industry is experiencing a surge in the adoption of smart beauty equipment driven by advances in digital technology, offering convenience and differentiation to beauty consumers. The results of this study will offer new directions for improving the management environment for managers running small beauty shops. They will be valuable in suggesting strategies to strengthen competitiveness by expanding customized customer services.
