Keyword Network Analysis on Discussions of International Students in RISE Project
Abstract
This study reviewed the characteristics and main aspects of discussions on International Students in the RISE (Regional Innovation System for Education) project through keyword network analysis. The results of keyword network analysis and ego network analysis of about 7,600 web documents collected in 2025 showed that recruitment, global, university, region, education, support, international, student, university president, employment, and expansion were the main keywords. The ego network analysis results showed that in the recruitment ego network, the education, global, training, and expansion nodes exerted strong influence. It was also shown that, in the global ego network, reinforcement and recruitment nodes occupied important positions. In contrast, in the international ego network, exchange and culture nodes occupied important positions, suggesting that policies related to international students were expanding into dimensions of social integration, such as culture and exchange. The results of the employment/entrepreneurship ego network analysis indicated that local employment and the settlement of international students were key issues, and the Ministry of Education/City Hall ego network clearly identified the central government and local institutions as key actors in international student policies. The results of this study suggest that, regarding international students, the RISE project aims to serve as an innovative project that combines local higher education with internationalization strategies.
