Observações sobre o reassentamento involuntário dos atingidos/as de Paracatu de Baixo após o rompimento da Barragem de Fundão/MG
Abstract
On November 5, 2015, the Fundao Dam, in Mariana / MG, broke and released about 50 million cubic meters of mining waste into the environment. This sociotechnological disaster resulted in innumerable losses of biomes and the deterritorialization of populations along the Rio Doce Basin. The social and spatial damage caused by the disruption has caused the affected community to lose territoriality, ways and projects of life, economic losses and physical and emotional stress. Among the struggle for repair processes, one becomes essential – the resettlement. This study seeks to present and problematize the ways of life of those affected in Paracatu de Baixo, subdistrict of Mariana / MG before and after the break, the process of involuntary collective resettlement of this community and to discuss the limitations and inconsistencies of the Urban Plan in the host area, in this case, the collective resettlement of Lucila, area where the residents of Paracatu de Baixo will be relocated after the rupture and who opted for collective resettlement.
